The team of five engineers from Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), Germany are currently working in collaboration with locals from Old Syaphru Bensi to build the waste incineration site in the village. Mechanical engineer, Civil engineer and Industrial engineer involved in the project aims to utilize their respective expertise to enhance waste management of the village. The construction work started from October 09, 2016 and is expected to complete by November 02, 2016.The villagers are actively involved in the project helping the engineers in the construction site. The fund for the project is supported by local engineers group called Engineers without Borders (EWB) of KIT while locals have been delighted to provide food and accommodation for the engineers during their stay in Old Syaphru Bensi. I, Sunil Tamang as project lead for #RebuildOldSyaphru project like to thank team EWB from KIT for their outstanding effort to help the people of Old Syaphru Bensi and supporting the dream of making Old Syaphru Bensi a model village. Last two days, I got opportunity to involve in the project personally for making arrangement of necessary materials (metals, wire, cement, bricks, etc.) for the construction. I am truly inspired by dedication of Mira Wehr and Julia Hofmann who were given responsibility by team to arrange those materials from Kathmandu. Moreover, it provides me immense happiness to see local collaborating with team and sharing their hands in great work. I personally, believe construction and proper utilization of waste incineration in completion will enhance cleanliness of the village.
I wish entire team and locals for successful completion of the project in time.
